Within the project “Better Social Inclusion through strengthened IRIS CSOs Network”, implemented by LIR Civil society and Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund Deutschland e.V., with the financial support of the European Union, the document “Annual exchange of information – improvement of the the quality of standards of civil society organizations social service providers (Annual Briefing 2023)” was developed.
The document highlighted the importance of the activities carried out, the results achieved and their long-term effects. Civil society organizations provide support to different vulnerable categories and thus, by their example, influence the strengthening of local communities across the country. The need for their further empowerment, which requires continuity and an approach that encompasses different dimensions of activities that are in line with the specific needs and context of each local community, was emphasized.
The document consists of the following chapters:
- Introduction
- Social innovation and development of social protection systems in Bosnia and Herzegovina
- Networking of civil society organizations and positive social change
- IRIS Network activity- Better social inclusion
- Recommendations for future action from the aspect of the system, from the aspect of social service providers and from the aspect of view of beneficiaries.
Social innovation and adequate social protection combined can have a major impact on improving the position of the entire population, not only vulnerable categories. Ideas that are an integral part of the concept of social innovation can be the main driver of further social development of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
It was concluded that a sustainable and inclusive approach that focuses on the specific needs and context of the community is key to the success of the process of empowering civil society organizations and advancing the social inclusion of vulnerable categories.
